Engagement
Students authentically engage in a meaningful and purposeful work that promotes learning. Students are inspired when they work in differentiated classrooms, where teachers proactively plan and facilitate varied approaches to content, process and product in anticipation of and response to student differences in readiness, interest and learning needs.
Achievement:
As an educational community committed to improved learning for all students, we are collaboratively working to address the following questions:
1. What is it we expect our students to learn?
2. How will we know when they have learned it?
3. How will we respond when they don't learn?
Strategic Goal - Instruction:
To develop and implement structures, strategies, and tools to meet the diverse learning needs of our students, in order to improve student achievement.
Outcomes:
- Improves student proficiency in verbal, written, and numeric literacy, as evidenced by an increase in the percentage of students, districtwide, who exceed expectations, and a decrease in the percentage of students who do not meet expectations, as measured on state tests (ISAT, PSAE).
- All Barrington CUSD 220 students will have a shared vocabulary and operational understanding of character, as demonstrated by local assessment measures.
- All Barrington CUSD 220 schools will be caring communities, as perceived by students, staff, and parents, and evidenced through local assessment measures.

We are passionately pursuing perfection. We strive to see evidence of high quality work in all areas demonstrated by all students and staff. To enhance the quality of our work, we will continue to focus on effectively implementing the strategies developed in our action plans related to our six strategic goals:

Strategic Goals
INSTRUCTION:
To develop and implement structures, strategies, and tools to meet the diverse learning needs of our students, in order to improve student achievement.
RESOURCES:
To design and clearly communicate a financial plan that will isntill confidence and support to generate sufficient revenue to meet all the District's current and future resource requirements.
COMMUNITY AND TRUST:
To build mutual understanding and trust between the school district and its community of stakeholders.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT:
To develop and fund a staff development program that enhances the capabilities of all staff to: identify learners' needs; adapt instruction to address needs; and inspire all learners to achieve excellence.
STAFFING:
To develop and implement human resource startegies and desirable working conditions that will result in attracting and retaining high quality staff.
INSTRUCTION-TECHNOLOGY:
To renew our commitment to use technology to improve instruction and to provide students and teachers with opportunities to develop essential technology skills.
